Medical Services

Our hospital provides the following medical services.

Behavioral Health Services

The ability to cope with the normal stresses of life can sometimes become overwhelming and may interfere with an individual's ability to be happy, productive and contribute to the community. When this happens, there may be changes in behavior such as confusion, depression, mood swings, withdrawal from others and suicidal tendencies.

In many cases, the true cause of these changes may be medically related – and treatable.

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital offers an inpatient behavioral health program that address both the medical and psychosocial aspects of behavioral health issues.

Services for our mature, adult patients include:

  • Comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessment on admission
  • Group therapy
  • Counseling
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physical and Recreational therapy
  • Patient education
  • Extensive discharge planning and follow up

Referrals to our program can be made by individuals in need of our services, family members, physicians, clergy, community agencies, nursing homes or other adult living facilities / communities.
